of a store or auto parts / mechanics place from which i can source a set of front brake pads ?

Any of the larger chains like repco should stock the Bendix pads to suit. Best to look in the yellow pages and ring them up to ask if they stock them before going there. Part number for the Bendix pads are DB1307GCT There the ones I have on my car and there great. Avoid buying cheap no name brands made in china as there mostly crap and don't last long.

Yeah, if one supercheap doesnt stock them, none of them do. I had a look in 2 repcos as well ... nothing. noone wants to stock them seing as they dont sell , a relatively rare car part.

i was thinking more like, nissan only wreckers or nissan second hand auto parts or something.

getting anything for these cars is a hassle

We have BGT brakes here in Victoria. Nt sure if they have branches for interstate but if I can walk in and get brake pads for my 1958 Triumph then I'm sure they would have ones for a Micra.
