disabled tax help!!

Hi guys just after some advice

i was due to be going on holiday in 4 weeks with some mates going down to devon with a bunch of mates however the main cars engine is kaput so they need a new car

they have found one but it's in blackpool which aint a problem but it's taxed as disabled which you have to go to dvla local office to change over which is in preston like 20 miles away now would it be legal to drive it to the dvla office to change the taxation class back to normal or would it be an acceptable reason that prestons on the way home for picking it up an driving it there

but in the better judgement of the dixie county sherif department you are covering tax from the beginning of this month

i have driven to post office with no rd tax,only to leave the post office with some rd tax
i done the same thing, but didnt drive the same vehicle to the dvla office,someone took me
