DASH ILLUMINATION NOT WORKING

hi all, my friend just bought a new micra and the illumination on the dash does not work when the lights are turned on. also the illumination for the air con dials (speed, vent, climate) do not light up also. have checked the fuses and they seem to be fine. the park brake light, engine warning lights etc do work though. any ideas?

Take the dash out by following one of the many threads about changing dash bulbs and check that theyre all ok. The way its wired means that if 1 goes, the rest follow (i think) Its a relatively easy process to get the dash off! Just search the forums

how can you check the bulbs in the air con unit?

There's oni 2 bulbs in the aircon unit. Quite a pain to reach if ur hands are big.

To access the speedo. Remove the steering column covers. The 2 "+" screws holder the speedo cover. 3 "+" holding e speedo.

I've the same problem as u when I got my ride. TOTAL darkness, but all sorted now.
