every time i switch on my lights the fuse for the rear blows. its very annoying any one any ideas? i thought it might be an earth problem but evry thing seems fine.

First check that your fuse is the correct rating for this circuit, then buy a stash of replacement fuses....LOL

Be sure your fuse is blowing at the point of switching on the light switch and not as soon as you fit a new one......if it blows as soon as its fitted with the lights off then you have a short in the circuit at or before the switch(may be even the fusebox)

otherwise,....
make sure the lights are off
replace the fuse
remove the bulbs from the rears
switch on....wait a a scond or two, then switch off...

then check the fuse again....

if the fuse is fine after this tes then you should scrutinise the lamp holder where the bulb fits in and also the bulb....maybe try a fresh bulb if you dont find anything shorting in the holder...

if the fuse is blown you have a short either at the switch, in the wiring after the switch or even in the bulbholder!!

did that make any sense?? cos im a little confused after reading it back..:-/!!

thanks thats a big help will play 2mo and let you know how i get on. shaun
