Cold start

Hi does anyone have a cold start issue it has been snowing here for a couple of days and before was freezing condition sent to start the Micra last weeks everyday and it turns over but didn't start got plenty of fuel got it to fire after turning over for a while

- if it has a distributor, remove the cap and wirebrush the thick white oxide buildup off the 4 electrode points. this affects spark strength especially during cold starts.
- check the spark gap is 1.1mm
- there are two coolant sensors under the distributor. if the ECU sensor reads too cold, it'll cold start too rich and flood. remove the bigger 2-pin ECU coolant sensor and check it's resistance per degreeC in boiling water is within original spec

- remove & clean the idle control valve on the TB. if its stuck closed, it won't allow cold engine to idle fast enough.
