In Darwin the filter has to be braced and secure that is it. I know in some southern States it has to be concealed in a box. It varies from state to state. Best to go to your MVR RTA and ask there to be sure.

best way i reacon for a new car.. just spend $100 on a KN panel filter. that way you dont have to worry about the sensors, fittings etc. and use the factory induction system. KN high-flow filter is made from urethane last almost ages and can be cleaned at every service.

you wont beat the full GA setup imo, factory designed for max drivability on a nissan 16v 100hp engine (and insurance friendly :) )
