Clutch Adjusting??

Hi

Hope you can help me out here.

My better half is driving a Micra Shape 1998. The clutch is quite high, and when chatting to someone at work about this she mentioned that hers used to be and her local garage lowered it for her (same year micra). However when I popped down to my local garage they said it can't be adjusted and she would need a new clutch within a couple of months. The clutch seems perfectly fine aside from riding high - no slips or weird noises. Keeps it's biting point.

I'm simply just trying to find out if they are adjustable

cheers

There is some adjustability in the clutch biting point but not much. If you open the bonnet and look to the left of the battery and fuse box you will see a cable attaching to a bar slightly below it.By loosening and tightening this you can adjust the biting point of the car.

Micra's do tend to have quite high biting points, think all the micra's i have driven have had their biting point quite near the top of the clutch pedal.
