Clear Tail Lights

What makes the clear tail lights illegal to drive with in the UK?

They arent e marked, ie dont have red reflectors on them.

Mate of mine bought them and they came with a stick on reflector in the box. Or some people put a round reflector on the bumper. Best going to your local cop shop. They'll tell ya for sure
