Clean Air Zone CAZ (Bristol, Birmingham etc)

Given that Bristol is about to introduce the CAZ I decided to check if my little 2002 K11 1L Micra would be hit with the current daily £9 "charge". Initially it was :-(
Having seen the https://www.micra.org.uk/threads/london-ultra-low-emissions-zone-ulez.70913/ thread decided to check TFL site https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle to see what it said, NO charge for ULEZ.

Both have a minimum requirement of Euro 4 for petrol to avoid the charge so contacted the CAZ (bottom of the page https://www.gov.uk/clean-air-zones)

CAZ have since "adjusted" their information and now I don't have to pay the charge. Well worth the 10 mins it took to fill out the online form, did take them over a week to respond that they agreed though.

I didn't need to get a Certificate of Conformity from Nissan as in the ULEZ thread or do anything other than supply them with registered name and address on the V5C.

I think because my V5C states the emissions it was not required.
I'm not sure about the older 1.0/1.3 dizy and coilpack 1.4 but if the V5C has emissions and its below Euro 4 should be easy.

Why I needed to contact them in the first place is beyond me.
They're willing to charge and then fine people based on this FFS.

Hopefully this will help some other owners out there!

IMHO, I have always felt that it's some greater plan to remove older vehicles from the road and not necessary all about emissions, E5 withdrawal in maybe 2026 will be a starting point and then the hammer blow of the emission zones in all major cities etc.

It's a rip off. A way to get old cars off the road and into newer cars. There will be a battle there with there being a long of classic cars about
