Novice questions about K11- dash warning lights,minor failures etc

hello everyone!

I'm Matiz from Poland, I've registered at your forums ,because theres not much movement at our PL forums. Sorry for my english, but I don't have much opportunities to talk/write with someone. I'll do my best.

I've bought a micra ,because my Impreza is in very bad condition... well ,compared to micra it isn't :p Her role is to be second car at the time of Impreza repairs, also it's cheaper to ride, I'll use it to drive to work during rainy/winter months (usualy using a bike, but -10'C is quite cold :cool: )

it is junk. seriously, maybe not the worst, but chassis is quite rusty. Also body panels was fast repaired with putty for selling.
But overall, I'm laughing instead crying I've chcecked it before buiyng ,so I wasn't surprised.
I'll try my best to hold it in life, because of price I can litellary weld any sheet metal like in mad max :D

mechanical it's not bad, Plugs are smoked black, I've dug up thats running rich=MAF issue. I've found fixing tutorial already

I'm working as mechanic, I always liked it since elementary school,so I will do everything by myself. Tie rods should be easy, CV also shouldn't be a problem.

I ve fixed (or solved, but have no parts) allready:
-rear hatch oppener
- blower fan operates only at max speed, I know from work it's (almost allways) a resistor issue
-hood cable jacket damaged


MAIN thing- questions for you guys ;)
I forgot- it is 1.3 SUPER S

-does it have check engine light at the cluster? If yes, where it is? I thing its removed for selling
-does it have ... fuel reserve/margin/ low amount (don't know the word, sorry :oops:) warning light?
-ignition key hmmm... getting back? from the ignition position too slow, I can hear the starter is rattling a little. Is there some quick solution? (wd-40?)

two things in drivers door- lock is bit loose, and the power window acting strange. motor isn't stopping while window is almost closed,and something rattling inside. But Il'l check it by myself at first

- Hot air coming from every went, except the central ones. Cold air flows from them
-engine issue mentioned above, but theres more things- vibrations comes at the chasis at the idle speed (under 1000rpm, when it comes close to 900rpm- idle speed) even more if I'll turn on some electrical components (like heater blower). Dunno- can it be MAF fault?
also, during WOT, or 3/4 thortle , usualy at freeways I can feel some "kangaro hops" with low aplitude: 2 hops with 1-3 secound pause. Just like car want go harder for a half second. Don't know ,can it be maf issue ,or maybe broken cv joint makes front diff crazy?
-does it have safety belts warning light at the cluster?
-Zero handbrake, but I think its broken cable.

-previous owner supose to be a tuning fan... I'm too, but he made some.... well THIS is tricky, we've got superb word in polish for this, but it's un-translatable. "wiring" is closest to it, it comes from whorst repairs, directly from exhausts hanged at the piece of wire.
but back to car. Theres Short shifter fitted i think, but not 100% sure. Gears shiftis a bit tight, also the shifting link is very loose at the joints.
also (which is main question) he cut short the shifter about 1/3.
Should be there a thread under the knob, or it was one-screw mounted?
