central locking for k11

Early days yet but n14 pulsar door locks with central locking fits no probs to a spare door ive got, micra on left, pulsar on right, top half identical, now to sus out the wiring

this is the key switch on the drivers door lock, I've been studying some elec. diagrams(k11 and n13(dont have n14 book)) and they also run thru a door lock timer, anyone know the purpose of this part? is it neccesary??

the timer is like a control box and in the n14 is in the inside switch, it has an power wire, a earth wire and two wires that go to the extra door(s), + 2 wires that go to the key switch, I'm going to mount the control box under the dash as theres not much room in the micra door. Ive been trying to remove a terminal out of a spare fusebox without much luck as there is one spot in my f/box left, but may just splice into an existing circuit, everything is ten times harder with a broken right thumb
