central locking

Suddenly the central locking drivers door has statreted playing up, the door won`t unlock, you get in the passengers side and the inside lock itself won`t open the drivers door, play with the key in the lock and suddenly it starts working okay, lasts for a few days and then starts again.
1. does anyone have a clue
2. Can you isolate the central locking on the drivers door and have it only manual key operation, i it easy to do?

sounds like the lock barrel has shat itself or seized up

either that or the solenoid that operates the lock is busted

they are generally cheap to replace and you can use aftermarket soilenoids

only way to find out is to get in there and check the operation of everything
