Cat shield

I have an issue with the Cat shield vibrating on a 94 1L K11. I was about to grind off the rusted bold heads when I noticed the ex pipe between the engine and the cat was covered also. Is it possible the remove the whole shebang and is that the best way forward.

Part of mine fell off a couple of years ago on the A38 and the rest was wearing through so I recently took off the narrow pieces that cover the front pipe (wearing into the exhaust pipe in places).
Then the cover on the front of the cat was vibrating so that came off too. No rattles or vibrations and no MOT issues either. Get shot of it, it's all dead weight.
