Carb draining gas into crankcase?

My latest problem is the carb draining gas into the crankcase. The car 85 k10 automatic has been sitting for a while. I drained the oil once and left it for a week or so pulled the plug again and there was another litre of gas. What would be causing this. Stuck float or choke? Can it be fixed without pulling the carb apart?

I do have a spare carb but it is not the same, possibly from an 86. Would some of the internal parts swap over?

would it not more likely be the pump that is leaking ?

Someone said it could be a torn diaphragm in the fuel pump. This does make the most sense.

that would be easy to check, if you unbolt it (leaving the pipes on) and push the plunger a few times
