Got a Deka battery today (Like the one alex had)

and man its tiny!

got some pics and stuff, can't be arsed relocating it..but I will make a smaller custom battery tray to put it on next to the overflow tank.

Anyway only cost me $150 bucks, and also now my revs dont drop and voltage doesnt change when i turn on all my lights!

this was causing idle problems when I was tuning my car (ie turn the lights on and revs dropped, etc etc..) anyway thats all good now, the car pretty much stays on 14.2-3 volts constatly no matter what accessories are on.

My crappy old battery must've been shagged!

pics soon

I'd make a heatsheild for it as well. I don't think that particular battery is designed for use in hot under-bonnet temperatures.

IT will be written on it in fine print if it isnt though.

AWESOME! They sound like top batteries.

Man, my lights go very dim etc when I lift off and let the car drop back to idle, then they kinda pick up again. You reckon battery? The odyssey has had a few long periods where its been dead flat (i.e. 4 months at the exhaust shop etc). But then its recovered after a good overnight charge. But perhaps its kind of half shagged. But they say they are meant to recover from total discharges ok.. Hmm weird.

Relocate it! Relocate it!

.. and reap the handling benefits. Man seriously, I am amazed at my car's handling now with the odyssey moved. Its made the world of difference - really noticable.

Made up from the extra weight of having a cooler+turbo etc in the front end.. Car feels perfectly balanced now.

That's a good price. As well as being copmpact and lighter, can have at any angle other than upside down.

Looking at relocating mine under the passenger seat if it will fit.

I've had 2 Oddesey batteries in another car and both failed prematurely failed after running flat through disuse while in workshops etc. Something about oxidation damage of plates or electrodes. Won't go there again.

My battery used to have horrid negative corrosion, till the autoshop i went and put a pile of grease an corrosion stopper on it. I think its pretty dodgy that battery. and im positive that the negative isnt working aswell as it should. Any way to check this suspicion without getting a new battery+terminals? Could my multimeter be useful here...?
