Auto/Manual Engine Question

Hey again

Quick question:
Are the manual and auto ENGINES themselves the same?
As in, can i bolt my manual box straight up to a motor that currently has an auto?

I haven't had time to have a thorough look at the blocks
But i have just ripped the motor out of my spare micra (auto)
The plan is to rebuild it and then swap it with my current motor (manual)
(And in the meantime i can keep driving my car)
Nothing going to bite me in the ass with this swap?

They can be used but I believe the block is slightly different. You wouldn't know unless you pulled it apart.

the block i have is from an automatic they are a closed deck alot stronger around the piston sleeves but prone to cooling difficulties im told. And yes the manual box bolts right up.

Mine is also an engine from an auto, as my car used to be auto
