Any idea what this pipe is?

Does anyone know what the pipe circled in red is? The car is a K11 Micra 1.0l (coilpack version).

One end is connected on the top of the gearbox and the other is unconnected as shown in the image.

I was wondering if it had come from the free pipe (circled in green) on the evap. emissions control canister.

If it helps the air box has been slightly modified (before I bought it) with ducting going from the airbox to the front of the car to let it breath a little easier.

looks like a breather that would go to the stock air box to the charcoal canister

Yep, sounds & looks like the gearbox breather.
The charcoal canister connection is normally connected to vacuum.
Wouldn't worry too much about either.

just checked my car ... its the same setup ...its ok
