Welcome, good choice with the micra!

Use the search feature, there was a big long list put up a good while back about wheels off other cars that fit the micra!

Chears, to be honest it wasn't my choice really me dad said(after a few beers) that he'd buy me a cheap runaround if i quit smoking. So 2 months later me dad told he'd got a micra from a friend for "£100", i didn't expect much but was surprised to see that it was in good nic. Is this model a good one? as i do not know much about micras, chears!

Yeah, think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the torque of the 1200, I was & I'm used to 130mph bikes! :) Make sure you give it a going over, get a haynes manual and follow the servicing procedures in that. It's good practice to do this with a new car anyway as you don't know for sure what's been done.

Especially change the timing belt. Of all the servicing for a new car, this is most important. If it breaks, valves meet pistons and basically you're engine's shot!

Welcome to the forums & the micra :D

When I started learning to drive about 6 years ago everyone had novas and escorts. I still have my humble MA12 micra today (despite having driven many other cars) and I still love it. I really do not want to start street racing stuff, but before 40mph it can keep up with my mates Honda Civic 1.6 SOHC VTEC engine which I believe is really something. Natually he has a harder job putting the power to the ground but still.

So please - don't think that a micra is just an old person's car. True, suspension wise, it really is poo but the guys here can advise you on some KYB shocks which apparently help this matter.

Welcome to the MSC anyway. Hope you enjoy your K10. :)

How come you can only keep up with an engine, and only under 40mph? :) Maybe it would get the power down better if it was linked to a transmission and some wheels...? :p

Hehe, just messing, the wording struck me as funny!

Anyway, on topic... lowering the car is the best thing you can do for the handling without chucking money etc at it. Not only stiffens up the ride but adds a couple of degrees to your camber :)

It might well be in the members section. The size is 4 stud 100 PCD, offset 35-40 ish. I think this covers VW and some Vauxhall. It definately does not cover Fiat (as you know!), Rover, Ford or BMW. The PCD is the distance in mm between the centres of two adjacent bolt holes. Hope that helps.

This may be a silly question, but as i am new to moding, iam not sure:eek:. if i get bigger wheels does this mean my speedo will be incorrect as it work on revolution of wheels? and if so will it be significant?
