Aircon removal.

Hi all. Has anybody here removed their aircon ??? I want to do this to mine (reduce weight) I've had aircon in lots of my vehicles and never use it, just opening the windows for me is fine.
Spoke to my fitter about it and he says the only problem would be finding a belt of a suitable length once removed, so, has any-one done it and what belt did you find - thanks.

I havnt myself but it would be a case of taking it to a garage to recover your refrigerant and then you can remove system.

As for the belt...speak to a parts supplier, not sure in Cornwall, (mill autoquip?) Then they always normally ask if you have pas or aircon fitted. Different sized belts. But unsure if the route that the belt takes differs.

To depressurize mine I unbolted the top pip and pulled it off. It popped and hissed and all was well

Good job you said that, I was going to put a hacksaw through a pipe !!!!!!!
