For anyone who might be interested in this type of info.....A few statistics from our local advanced Drivers and Riders group (North East Region)

The following data was collected via questionaire and membership application forms

• High Risk Members
5% of members are in the “under 25’s” (statistically highrisk) age group

• Gender Distribution
Male to Female Gender Ratio 8:1

• Main Reasons to join
42% - Personal Ability Improvement
29% - Safety(**)
10% - Did not specify a motive
8% - To Aid Career development
4% - Social Reasons
2% - Progression from IAM
1.5% - Improve confidence after a collision
1.5% - To compensate for factors relating to Older Age
1.5% - Lower insurance

• Volunteering & progression
45% members have expressed an interest in developing their skills with a view to becoming a Driving or Riding Tutor
