A New k10 1989 owner (Lenny) Build Thread

Hello I'm new here just been passed down my grandads k10 that he bought when it was only a year old, sadly he passed away in 1992 before I was born. My nan has been driving it ever since until November. It has 54,000 miles on the clock and has had a full service recently.

I plan on lowering it (need help sourcing parts) and I plan on restoring it back to good condition as it's had some rust damage over the years being close to the seaside.

I look forward to talking to you all and getting Lenny back on the road

Hello RyanHumpy Nice to see a new member and good to see someone willing to put some time and effort into getting a K10 back into shape! If you need any help just ask as i'm sure we'll be able to help you out. If you want to lower your car you can buy some lowering springs for around £80. It's about a 35-40mm drop over standard and improves the handling massively!

Thanks for the reply man! Tomorrow I'm giving the engine a good old clean and new engine mounts! Just a quick question mini wheels and spigot rings? Are the wobble bolts a trusted safe method for running mini lites daily? Thanks

Yeah a lot of people use wobble nuts with minilites and have no problems with them

Thanks guys! Just got myself a bargain, been looking for the newer bumpers for a while, and my local scrappy had 1 k10 with the bumpers and new ht leads for £50 so happy!
also had a look at the gearbox linkage because my rubbers have vanished just cable tied the linkage up at the moment haha

Just put them on and they look sweet just need more lows and tyres on my wheels now!

They were grey before just got some back to black and they came out lush, my new bumpers have a dusting of satin black on the just to give them some colour not enough to crack and peal off

More progress! Started to delete the rear boot, wing mirrors and get it prepped for respray in areas.

Coilovers in 4 weeks, new tyres after that and get the wheels sprayed up ready to go on and be tested for arch rolling, so happy with the progress!

The micra will be restored back to how my grandad would have been happy with a few mods I've wanted to make to it. Let's call it the newer generation micra
