52 Reg K12 1.4SE Timing Chain

I wonder if anyone can recommend a non-main dealer Nissan specialist who can replace the Timing Chain at a much reduced cost. I am in the Cardiff Area.
The vehicle is becoming dangerous and has simply stopped on very busy roads, etc and this morning on a motorway roundabouts during rush hour. My missus was terrified.
Main dealer does not give a damn and wants £1000 approx to fix. The car is not worth that. Other than this stupid crappy design problem the car is perfect and has only done 50k from new.

sounds a bit iffy but as its a commoon problem supprised its lasted this long! see if theres any mechanical minded members nearby! as long as your prepaired to travel for a good bargain!

Kit costs £200 so your looking at around 500 to 600 to get it sorted, it is not an easy job to do engine has to come out and dismantled then re built and put back in.
see my post and if your confident then give it a go your self, you will also need new oil consumables ect so at least another 50 quid....

Hi, I worked for a Nissan dealer for 8 plus years and have changed countless timing chains on the K12 micra.
I can do timing chain complete job parts and labour for £480, that's using genuine Nissan parts, new oil and filter and ECM fully reset, I'm also able to do other diagnostic jobs on k12 micras.

There's a great guy in north east area does the full kit for £350 all in. He done both of my k12's and a few friends. Knows micras like the back of his hand and uses genuine Nissan parts. He has an advert on eBay, type in 'micra timing chain'. Form a queue though as he is usually very busy as you can imagine.
