2002 brake calliper.

So Little Miss Micra has failed her NCT (mot), she need a spot of welding, a CV boot and the left front calliper has seized. New ones are a bit pricey here in the Emerald Isle, so I'm thinking of getting a second hand one. Are they all the same except for ones with ABS? Who are a reliable online shop for new ones? Thanks for any ideas.

Just clean up your seized one. It's around £18 for a full seal kit. That's all I did with mine. Good as new.

My sliders were well seized, is one pad more worn than the other? Get it all took apart, cleaned up and rebuilt with silicone brake spray in your sliders

I'm back from my mechanic who had it up on a lift, he's happy to have a go at stripping and cleaning the calliper. It will need new pads, CV boot, and a small hole welded, hopefully it won't be too dear. I've worked on brakes before, but I'd prefer to leave it to an expert.
