1.0l question

would there be any difference between a 96 1.0l with no power steering and a 99 1.0l with power steering. i was considering getting power steering on mine but just wanted to know if would take any power from the engine. Also would a 99 / 00 model have the same power as a 96. I might try get up the years a bit

I believe every power stearing unit has to draw power from the engine. I can hear it strain when i turn the wheels full lock on my S Reg K11...

i beleive nissan changed the exhaust system on them so the later models have a higher power out put - however because of the extra doesn't have a quicker time.

I'm not a 100% sure on that if some one can confirm that.

dont need power steering, get a small steering wheel, and youll handle like a go-kart, also its a good workout for your arms...

Or go one better an get a powersteering rack seal the pipes up no pump! Then you have a semi rally steer rack! Minus weight and power lag!
