heaters

after having my car a month now i'v noticed that the heater doesn't work on setting 1 and 2 but 3 works fine.

can anyone help

thanks.

Thanks andy. i guess i'll have to get the BF to do it, as being a girl and not knowing much about cars, it wont be an easy task for me to do!!

down by the passanger side foot well, behind the heater box (black round unit) u should see a credit card shape item, with a brown connector block going into it with 4wires!! this is the resistor card!!

just taken a photo for you!!!

you can either get another from a scrapard that may have same problem or solder the blown area again!!

is that all it is, should be easy:)

yep  that should be it!!! hope that has helped!! when u remove it u should see a "blown area" where the contacts are no longer joined in a circuit.....which is why you dont have settings 1,2+3.

Remove 2 x crosshead screws either side of the plug
Scape either side of the 'blob' to expose fresh copper track.
Resolder if you have or can borrow an iron.

Apparantly conductive paint works too.
Buy some or try a windscreen place. They use it repair heated rear screens.

Around £35 from Nissan for a new one.
