Hey mate... When doing disks and pads you need to have the mating surface clean. Maybe this guy didn't clean the surfaces up and that might cause the hum. You should also check everything is bolted up OK. As for the spongeyness... thats likely air in the system. You'll need to bleed...

Shouldn't be that hard to get at the waterpump belt. Need to go at it from behind the engine through the bottom. Thats where the tensioner is :grinning:

the 1.0 gearbox bolts right up. Can keep the existing driveshafts, linkage in then. Just take the 1.0 flywheel off. Not sure about the ecu. I was told it should run fine. Time will tell! Oh and my 1.3 came with TB, distributor, alternator, etc etc etc. but I guess you may not be so lucky.

Well, I now know why things weren't going together well. I'd accidentally left a dowel in the gearbox and also one on the block. That sucker was never going together. School boy error. Still haven't got them together though. Just can't get them to line up perfectly, the front lines up ok and...

Engine went in today. Having a real nightmare getting the gearbox to align nicely with the block. AAARRRGGGHHH! Back to square one tomorrow, must be doing somethign wrong. Just can't get it to line up evenly all the way round, got front on fine but the back isn't right. Spent a good 3 hrs at it...
