is there any way to remove the steering lock on a 96 lx ? im guessing its probably connected to the mechanism that releases the indicator when the wheel straightens up. I want to remove it so i can start and drive it without a key, as i have an alarm system that can remote start and drive the car.

Im considering chopping my springs , i only want to take 1 and a 1/2 coils out , i know that the standard recommendation is not to do it, because it damages suspension components as they have to compensate. Has anyone done it and have any tips ?
