Looks like a gti maf... ill check the part number if u post it up. Have you checked all the fuses, sound like something on the ignition circuit aint working.

Call mr mr obvious but..... have you checked all the fuses and fusible links, coz if you can crank the engine but have no dash lights thats likely the problem.

Typical answer here is... use the search function (ga16 conversion or similar). But.. the search aint great tbh so... Ga16 swaps usually involve cutting the chassis rail which aint really a great idea.. its not as simple as it first looks. Sr20.. involves custom mounts/shafts... pretty much...

Imho.. keep what you have, pull it apart again. get the head pressure tested and refaced, set up by same company. £50-80 (in suffolk). Buy a haynes manual and literally go step-by-step refitting the head and timing. take your time... after all you dont have the car yet. If anything itl be good...

Yeah seen it a few times where the pad lining comes away (ebay Chinese pads) as u had wrong disks the lining prob came off due to hot/cold....then spat the backplate out.
