    Gearbox compatability

I'm really confused here! Why a 4 spped box and why an auto? Eveyone I know in rallying (road or stage) wnats laods if gears, all low. The only auto car I have seen on a rally was a merc in the early 1980s. As far as a box is concerned the cheapest way is a late 1 litre box. It takes...

Micra Rally Car Build - Questions

Why do you want to take the steering lock off in the first place? If it is a rally organised under the MSA rules then I don't know of any regulation which says you have to. You don't say what sort of rally it is and the rules are very different for each type. If it is a stage rally...

    clutch decision vote!

I can't speak from personal experience, but the person who had my rally micra befor me used it for road rally's. He is non to gentle with cars and gotr though several clutches and always said that as far as he was concerned Nissan's clutches were best value for money!

roll cages avaliable for the k11?

Custom Cages make a very nice weld in one. But you need to seriously want a cage as you have to strip the car out and take out the front screen. It has bars every where. Only for competition use as you will loose the back seats and need electric windows as the door bars prevent the winders...

    is this possible?

I have never driven a non PAS Micra but normally a PAS car has a quicker rack (fewer tarns lock to locK) which makes for quicker driving in twisty roads. I would expect the Micra to be no exception. I wouldn't be without it on my Rally Micra on tarmac although I doubt if you would want it...

    steel rims for a micra

I believe Corsa & Renault Clio will fit. I know VW have the right PCD but the hole in the middle is to small

    Shortened Shocks

Shortening the shocks will not affect the ride height, neither will adjusting their stiffness/hardness. What you need are shorter springs. I doubt if goa will lower it enough to need shorter shocks. To check Jack the car up on a trolley jack in the middle at the back. Take out the springs...

    remapping the stock ecu

I'm interested as I need ot do something with my car. The ecu isn't all it could be and I will have to replace it anyway. The car is a rebuilt write off - it got it's feet wet when it was less than 6 months old. Wet enough to cover the ecu. It still works but is more than a bit flat in the...

    Almera Sri brakes

Hi I have just put Almera 1600 SRi calipers on my car. I think they are slightly small er than Puklsar brakes as the disc is th esame diameter as th Micra Disdc, but vented. So I could probably put 13 inch wheels on if I wanted to. I bolted the calipers straight onto the Micra mountings and...

Badly behaving Micra. Nats, Immobiliser or what

Check the fuel pump relay. It's on the RHS of the drivers side footwell. (On a standard car it may be behind something, mine doesn't have any trim. My car had similar symptoms except for the imobiliser light flashing. You can test it by taking outhte relay and bridging the fuel pump contacts...

    better manifold

There is another little known alternative - Harvey. He makes manifolds for anything, and I mean anything. Micra NA 4:2:1 he has a pattern for, others he needs the car. His most common application for Micra's is the grass track boys. Mine was the first one he made with a fitting for a Lambda...

    Micra rally engine

Forced induction is a big no on rally cars. The MSA (governing body) don't like it (the regulation is H265 in the Blue Book). Also you can't fit an engine 50% bigger than original without dispensation. So difficult to put a 2 litre in either  There are a couple of forums dedicated...

    throttle bodied micra, in uk

Caerwent is a definite possibility. I would also like to do Brawdy again - a good venue but not alot of stage miles. A bit far for you though - just before you fall off the end of Wales (Pembrokeshire) - Like Caerwent no spectators allowed. Have you ever done Epynt? Not much further for...

    throttle bodied micra, in uk

I'm in South Wales, although not doing much at the moment. My mother is ill as is my mothe in law. My father died last year so it is a bit chaotic. But hope to get out latter this year. You can see my car on http://www.mike-hayes.co.uk/ Although it does need updating
