I've gone through the 5-speed conversion on the Pao now, also with the 1.2l engine from a donor K10 Micra.
That is the easiest route really - find K10 Micra with the 5-speed and swap the box, pedals and linkages over. I happened across one that only had 30k miles on for about £800 so snapped it...
Can't really help with either question. I doubt the transmission would be happy with anything putting out more torque than the 1.2 variant though. My manual has a bit of a whine on the 5-speed and that's hardly got any miles on!
They exist but are rare, you may have to import one from Japan with that specification.
I bought an automatic and converted it to manual and the larger 1.2 engine from a K10 Micra.
K10 used for engine swap with Pao.
Complete car in great condition, had a full MOT, 27k miles. Now has no engine up front and a Pao motor and box in the boot (MA10S 3-speed auto) that was on higher miles but ran well, if very slowly.
May be missing a couple of parts if @K10LS makes it up to me...
