White Paint

We currently own a 1996 1.0 Auto which is white with the black bumpers and steel wheels.

The car itself is in fantastic condition with little to no rust, but hasn't been looked after by the previous owner.

The query is on the paint though. A keen detailer, I am finding the car near impossible to clean. Any dirt welds itself to the paint and once clean feels very rough with little reflection. My first guess is servere oxidisation which I plan to machine polish off but looking around at the numerous other white Micras out there (and there are lots), it seems to be on them all. Is this a Micra thing that I'm unaware of and I would be wasting time machine polishing?

Thanks,
Iain :)

heres a tip to get dirt and grime out of white paint, use jif or cif as its now known cream cleaner its not as harsh a t cut but its great for removing ground in dirt.
