Turning the engine

Have just started trying to replace head gasket and as a complete novice need a bit of help. The manual says "Remove the spark plugs and turn the engine so that the 0 degree mark on the crankshaft pulley is lined up with the pointer on the crankcase" How do I turn the engine ?! Thanks

Big spanner onto the end of the cams closest to the sprockets (22mm i think) , kinda hexagonal. and turn the engine over to the right position by hand.
