track day car on a budget!

ok so my other halfs yellow inspiration is her pride and joy, but we a baby needed a 5 door with isofix etc blah blah and got a 2003 dci...

she cant bring herself to sell the the old one, so the compromise is to keep it and turn it into a track day car providing i dont spend too much...... ideas please :D
 
Strip the interior out as much as you can: Junk the rear seats and seatbelts, strip out the front carpets and all the sound proofing. That lightens it for a kick off, and that bit is FREE! (or even cheaper if you sell the bits you take out!)
 
Get the suspension and brakes right you won't need more power.
Most do an intake and exhaust change. Adjustable fpr to find the sweet spot.

Half the battle is finding parts
 
Strip it, then get some used race seats/harnesses and bolt them in properly... Then cheapo coilovers or springs, decent tyres and voila. Cheap fun
 
Make sure you've got enough money left for trackdays! And maintenance: things will wear out quicker and need looking after.

thanks for all ideas and stuff! cant wait to get stuck in! just gotta wait till the little monkey and even littler monkey allow me the time! hehe
