Top Gear - new series tonight...

For those of you who don't know and who want to know, there's a new series of Top Gear starting tonight at 8pm on BBC2. Cars include include the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a BMW M6 and a Porsche 911 Carrera S all driven round the Isle of Man (therefore fast, legally)...

And while we're on the subject, I've just been watching an episode of Top Gear from 1991. Check out Clarkson... :laugh:

Soooooo.....the Top Gear survey, eh? 10 out of the bottom 13 cars are French, and 7 out of the top 10 are Japanese. Says something, doesn't it!

The only flaw in the survey is, while I'm not doubting that Japanese cars are more reliable etc than French cars (because they are), not as many people will own the cars in the Top 10 than in the Bottom 10.

Take the S2000 (at #1) for example, people who buy them are likely to be passionate about cars and performance and so tried and tested which car to have extensively and would have have no doubt loved every aspect of them (hence the purchase).

Whereas a lot of the cars further down the table are more popular in the consumer market and so basically, more people will reply to the survey who own Rover 25's then the S2000.

Would be interesting to see the amount of data collected for each car in the survey really.
