Soldering TB

So I've seen a soldering iron kit for sale for £7.99 in Wilkos. Complete kit. The whole she-bang. The real deal. I'm not joking about that is the real price. Flabbergasted? So was I. Completely amazed, astounded even. Just 799 pennies and this serious piece of kit from the Gods could be mine. That's less than 8 quid! Means I can get change from a tenner, enough for a cheeseburger and a McFlurry. This deal is just TOO GOOD for me to pass up it seems.

Got me thinking about soldering my TB.

1. I've never soldered before
2. If I solder wrong, will I have a ghastly paperweight?
3. If I need a replacement, can any other TB fit directly? GA15?
4. Is it actually worth my time, effort and blood?

There is a PDF somewhere of soldering the tb. When I did mine, had to be a lil precise, I didn't have a solder extractor so just went over the old solder. In answer to your question is it worth doing, only when the symptoms are present.
