Rear Arch Liner

Just acquired a 20 Yr old K12 with 38K, too good to pass up. The rear driver side arch liner is missing, as well as rear near side.
Main concern is drivers side as the filler and breather pipes are exposed to stones etc.

Found a hood used one but problem is there's no fixing bolts or holes in my arch to attach to.

Has it been repaired or did it even have them?

Do I really need a liner?

Mine does not have them the inner wing liners at back still look okay on 2005.
Some later model I. Guess has them.
Do you need em depends what the finish is on in arch mine are kinda grey ish and seem to have a kind of stone chip finish as far as I recall.
The only down side to not having them is the fuel pipe, ect are more exposed to the elements.
I actually thought they were missing then later notice no fitting holes and the stone chipping finish.
As for them being solid I have a slight rust at the very outside edge inner on rear.
Doubt it's all that bad the rest look good worst bit around fuel filler on inside probably due to that item being shot.
The liners in general are great but down side to them is when muck gets behind em the often rusts.
Can be noticed on some golf's front arches of the 2000+ era...
