query for my clocks

Hey all just had to ask those of u who know or have done 1.6 or bigger conversion for the 02 k11. basically my digital clocks cant be used with 1.6....so iv got a the older k11 super s dial but wud like to know how you make them work with the primera engine/loom. i.e making the rev counter, temp and fuel to show readings. cause im sure u dont use the primera clocks do you?

have you customized your own circuit for it to work?

if your clocks from your 02 micra had rev counter on it and its now spare ill buy it off you.... (long shot i know)

I should be correct in saying that the readings sent from the ecu will be the same just the plugs or the order of the wires will be different. Your have to get wiring diagrams or haynes manualy for both and work through it. Wont take too long.
 
sweet...il have to get hold of both manuals den(no any sites i can download it for free) saving me a few pence :)

so people have done this method before i take it?

you will have problems as from 1999 or 2000 onwards nissan switched over to Bosch monotronic(sp??) ecu's. The setup was completely different from earlier cars (i.e. coil packs rather than a dizzy).

At a guess most of the internal loom will need replacing as the ecu connections will be different and the clock connection will be different as well.

Best person is Mr. Ed as i believe he has had a mk4 k11 dash apart and could shed more light apon the subject.
 
sweet thanx for that :) how can i get in touch with him? i was planning on keepin the internal loom for the 1.0 i.e for the indicators, heater, lights front and rear and using the primera engine loom so it would be a hybrid...to avoid having to make my own loom....and your sayin the non digital k11 clocks wont be compatable with the primera ecu?

the plugs for the primera clocks slot straight into the back of k11's only prob is the pins/wiring or what you reckon?

Connections will be different but the signals are the same, hence that ive quite easily wired after market electric gauges by splicing into the wires going to the "digital clocks". Which would also be compatable with the 1.6 nissan and some gauges with a diesel ford escort van from france.

The wiring may just need swapping around, everything will work ok with your standard dash.
 
ok so if i want to use my digiDash i can by splicin the wires of the one plug to the appropriate places.....and if i want to use the older dials the same applies but instead swapping the wires of the primeras 3 plugs into the rite places :) if im correct
 
Even if the plugs are the same shape sometime you still have to change the order of, like the micra rear lights, same plug and concept but for some reason the wires were in a different order.
 
spoke to ed and he says: "well all you need is a speed sensor for your gear box (of the right type) Nissan seem to make two types, one is inductive the other is hall effect. If you find the right type, I cant remember now what the K11 has on the later ones, then you may find it will wire into the loom. There is no need to go putting in mechanical dials etc."

what u think?
 
all you need to do is find a primera elec sender that looks like the one your k11 had, then wire it into the loom for the dash. (if its the right type) it should work, but as i dont have it all in front of me to see I cannot guarantee it. Other option is just to use older K11 dials. Its all relatively simple but only if you know how they work.
 
can you or any1 supply the wiring diagrams for the k11 52 reg and the primera 96-98.that would be great :)

so for using the older clocks its jus a matter of switchin the wires round for the plugs
