New exhaust

The exhaust has started blowing on the micra on the joint where the back box joins the centre section.

Anyone know how much a new centre section and back box would be from a garage ? Also what are people opinions on gungum as a temporary repair till we can afford to replace the exhaust ? Cheers

Hi mate, I had the same issue.. Just before the exhaust joint in centre sections.. Garage quoted me £40 to weld it. It might be cheaper to buy it from eBay then welding on the same broken one. It will eventually break again.

This is on of the cheapest 'new' item on eBay, check the size and fittings for your car before you buy it tho.

The exhausts on these are a piece of cake . The only trouble you'll have is the rusty cat bolts.

For a garage to supply and fit a new b pipe and back box you're probably looking at 100-150 imo

My center cost me 40inc vat from a carparts place,1st back box was about 30 but only lasted a couple of years,center needed welding this year and I replaced the back with a 2nd hand one off ebay for £35. Just happened to end up being a calsonic one! If its just the center an back you won't have to worry about the cat if its petrol,the exhaust goes manifold,cat,downpipe,center and then back. Only ever used gungum to seal the joints never as repair so not sure on that one.
