My car swing to one side when accelerate and the other when my foot is off the pedal!

**Pics Add **car swing to one side when accelerate and the other when my foot is off

I am not sure this is the right place to post but i have some weird things happen to my Micra.

Basically, when my foot is on the accelerator the car will swing to right a little bit and it will swing to the left when i off. It wasn’t that bad before as I drive it in town in 30-40mph.

Last week I went into motorway and when I drive around 70mph it swing quite badly as i think the speed will make the swing look more.

I have jack up the car and check few bit and it looks normal.

I also give the engine a little 'shake' and it does look normal too.

Anyone got this experience please help!!!!!

Thanks in advance.

i think it wont be the tyre pressures or tracking as i just put on new tyres and the steering wheel not shaking or move to one side.

you might be right about the suspension bush.

so how can i check if it is the bush?

Will show signs of wear, and have play in it. Forgot, it could also be a brake sticking on. Try braking at speed hard while holding the steering wheel. If one brake is sticking on, it'll spear to one side.

it does sound like a wishbone bush eh, see if either front wheel will roll back and forward with the handbrake on fwn

do you mean i put the handbreak on and push the car? or i jack the car up and do that? i think the hand break it only holding the rear wheels if i am right?

btw is the wishbone = lower ball joint?

Thanks

with the car down/hand brake on, and grab the top of the wheel (to see if it rocks back and forward in the arch)
escorts used to rock really bad when the void bushes were knackered

I think it could be the wishbone bush. i do what has been suggested. it doesnt move easily but i heard some noise when i roll the tyres.

anyway i am going to mot this car next week. i am sure they will spot the wishbone is finish for mot.

Thanks for all the advice. if it is not the wishbone i am sure i will come back ask for me advice.:p

the k10,s used to have a problem with the steering rack floating about in the rubber mounts (but i hav,nt seen a k11 do it)
and you,ve changed both wishbones william ?

Without sounding rude, you've changed a wishbone without knowing what a suspension bush is. If you kept doing this, you'd be wasting money that could be spent in a garage! The MOT will pick up any failings with suspension. If it doesnt fail on them, they will advise them. Mention it when its in for its MOT.

i change it because it was on its way. bought the wishbone ages ago but cant be bother to fix it.

i get your point chris, i think its wast of money if i keep trying on different things. But i am a bit worry something will snap one day also its really unsafe to drive with a car keep swinging.
The main problem is my wife is driving this and she only got her licenece around 1 yrs. i just told her drive slower than normal to be safe.

if its lurching right under power and left on lift, then my money would be on a knackered n/s (lefthand) wishbone

dude you never change 1 side of anything! if your going to change stuff it needs to be fronts left and right or rears left and right..... never one side at a time

it polls to the left when off the padel and goes to right when foot on pedal so you might be right.

I check the history and the left one has changed around on september / october 2009 but i am sure the new wishbone last longer than 1 year right?

In oder for more clearification. I have go underneath the car, jack it up and done another few test.

1. I try shaking the wishbone (not the new side) nothing happens. i did shake up and down / left and right it look tight.
2. Try to spin all wheels to see if it is stick break.
Font : Bit sticky on D/S than passanger side. (will that be the reason?)
Rear: both are kind of hardish to move.(with the handbreak off)
btw i got all 4 disc version of SR.

any one know how to release the stickey break.

I have take some pictures on the wishbone can anyone see if you can spotted anything.

It look like the old wishbone side bent slightly more than the new one.
can anyone spot anything?
Thanks.

its the rubbers on the wishbone that you need to check william, not the balljoints, cant you get your mot man to check it over for you ?

just an update, gone to the mot station, fail few bits - one is the passanger side wishbone i think frank is right.

order the parts and will see if it do the trick.

thanks guys anyway.
