MOT Fail

Hi Guys

Got a problem, my 1998 Micra 1.3si has failed its MOT today, Just wanted some guidence on costs.

it failed on the following

rust under the car usual sills and under the driver seat too many holes needs a lot of welding
wipers replacing
Brake pads and discs need sorting

there are a few more bits and bobs but they are minor and can be sorted at a later date.

Whats the guide price on this work?

find a reasonable welder {family freind freinds frend or sumthing} good welding price

That does not really help, I dont know anyone who can weld I am taking it to a local Garage.

Just need a guide price for the work so I know what to expect.

Its hard to quote without seeing the work needed. Personally i would buy a disk and pad kit off the bay and wipers for that matter. fit them if your capable then the welding will be the only issue, underseal is a cheaper option than repainting. Thats if the rust is on paintwork :question:

sills costed me bout £40 per section of welding. they usually undercoat it afterwards too
discs bout £10 front, £15 rear
pads £13 front, £17 rear
shoes £16 rear

Ive been quoted 110 all in for the welding work on both sides and may just have to clean up the discs and wipers.
