ma12 timing ?

hi folks , im looking for some help with a customers car . im in BC Canada so this is not a very common car in these parts.
the car is a 89 k10 with ma12 and auto trans with 160k km .
i cant find a book or anything online to tell me the timing marks etc for timing belt replacement on the ma12. i need static timing marks crank to cam etc . not ignition timing . any help would be greatly appreciated . thanks , al .

There is a mark behind the bottom pulley on the crank, its a dot on the crank and a slot on the engine housing,

On the cam shaft there is a small cut out on the engine head and a dot on the crank wheel

Im sure there was a dowloadable manual about here somewhere, somone will know where it is :)

Dead easy to do, good luck!

Steve

Here is a link to an online manual featuring the canadian model nissan micra k10. It's all images andso it takes a little while to load up but it's well worth the wait. This one gives you info that you can't find in any other manual.

For changing the belt, turn the engine to TDC leave the crank and cam in exactly the same position while you revove the old belt and fit the new one. The cam alinement marks don't quite line up perfectly when it's right, so it give's you the faulse impression that it's wrong. But the thing is; since you can only move the cam by the width of a belt-tooth at the minimum, it's actually the closest you can get to lining up the marks.
