Front shock and springs
1) Jack up car and remove wheels.
2) Remove hub bolts, this can be tricky as they may not have been touched in along time, a breaker bar is your best friend here.
3) Once the hub bolts are removed undo 2 bolts under bonnet and remove the shock. 4) Change spring.
5) Re-attach the shock with the bolts under the bonnet but don’t tighten.
6) Re-attach the hub, again use the breaker bar to tighten.
7) Refit wheels and drop the car.
Rear shock and springs
1) Jack up car but not on the rear axle as you will not be able to get the springs off.
2) You can use spring compressors to remove the spring but you can get someone to push down on the hub and pull the spring out.
3) Loosen the bolt at bottom of shock but do not remove yet.
4) Undo the shock in the boot, this can be tricky as when you turn the bolt it will turn the shock rod, if you have a ratchet spanner you’ll have better luck but a normal spanner is fine, place spanner around the bolt and using mole grips hold the top of the shock still, when you run out of space to turn bolt you should be ok to lift the spanner and reposition it without taking mole grips off.
5) Fit new shocks and springs by doing reverse of the instructons.
