looking at a 1.3 super s what should i check

hi there im off to see a n reg 1.3 super s at the weekend and was wondering what to look out for ?

its only going to be used to do the shoping in etc so i just want it to be reliable etc whats the fuel consumption like ?

check sills and front crossmember and throttle body and then all the other normal stuff you look at.

the mpg can be good if driven sensibly, 40+mpg. mainly check the rear of the side sills, and the front crossmember behind the front bumper as these are prone to rot.

Once youve driven the 1.3 you wont want to go back to a 1 litre! The fuel consumption might be better also, as it doesnt have to be thrashed as much.

yeah that was a thought of mine also argh i dunno i just want a cheap runabout to do teh day to day crap while my brc does the fun bits

my 1.3 super s has been amazing, and its a 'K' reg!!

any rattles from the engine and the rear section of the exhaust are likely to just be the exhaust heat shield rattling, nothing major....
