hi, does anyone know how to test a rev counter, to see if it is the unit or the wiring that is a bit dodgy? i connected 1 up tonight, green to negative side of the coil with the wire going to the dizzy, im not sure i put the black and red in the correct place though.
cheers

Use a multimeter to test the wiring

Nothing goes to the dizzy on a K10, only the coil

Agree with Arnold no wire goes to the dizzy (youll get one heck of a shock) simply get a multi meter with a tacho put the red wire (input) to the + side of the coil and the black (common) to earth best place is on the body. Turn the engine on this should give what your RPm is. If you want to check the wire of the rev counter then turn the meter to contiunity (an arrow symbol on it's side and a buzzer) if the buzzer sounds then the wire is ok.
