Rev counter doesnt rev :(

Hey guys

i followed the guide on her to wire up a rev counter, but the tacho i got has 4 wires not 3,

red - pos
black - earth
green - signal to dizzy
white - ?

i connected the red black and green and it doesnt work, have i done anything wrong ?

i did entend the wires from the rev counter but the joints are perfect.

ive searched the forums but not seen a situation like this in the search

i would imagine one of them is for a light-signal, so the backlight knows when to come on. I dont know which wire would have to go from the dizzy, etc tho.. sorry

yea, but without that light signal on surely it should rev

only thing i can think of is the positive voltage is on a funny colour (ie. not red) or you jus got unlucky and got a faulty rev counter.

yes mine had one for backlight memory

not sure what to suggest matey. mine was a blue wire to dizzy


perhaps the white is for dizzy i aint sure

No - white will be power also. Connect that to a 12v input and it'll work.

ah cool, so if the white wire on the rev counter isnt connected to the 12v it wont rev
