how rough should idle be after installing cams?

as title says, ive just put some piper cams in and idles rough. is it true these can cause bad idle?i think theres more at fault tbh.ive just built the engine and replaced one that ran like crap so there could always be some sensors at fault or something, plus it had kristian + co's dodgey wiring which doesn't help anything!so really just looking for an answer for the 1st point,thanks

my piper ultimates idled very smooth, is the valve timing ok ? (some timing pics towards the end of this thread http://www.micra.org.uk/threads/36894-Urgent-Camshaft-replacement-qeustion? )

should have known you'd be quick to help with handy info Frank!urm i think its all good, all marks lined up and there was the correct number of links between all the sprockets. used autodata for reference. once i get the ignition timing sorted i'll whip the cam cover off and have a butchers.thanks again pal!
