what can I do to my lil k11 without having to tell the the insurance company and over inflating my already HUGE insurance premium...

So far I've changed the dash lights, gear stick, gaiter, knob and i've ordered new spark plugs and a xenon light set. ( I know exiting stuff!)

I intend to paint the engine at somepoint when i have the time to.

cheers sam

You could

  1. Replace your tyre with newer rubber on a new for old basis
  2. Give the car a service
  3. Replace you brake discs on a new for old basis
  4. Paint the cam cover
  5. Give the car a good clean
  6. Fix any damage
  7. Give the interior a deep clean
  8. Replace any worn bush or suspension on a new for old basis
  9. Give the car a complete service.

You need to let the insurer no about ALL changes to the vehcile. Strictly speaking the only thing above that you dont need to mention is the spark plugs.

would they really worry about a gearknob, the old one is still in the glove compartment, i think .....

Yes, again (strictly speaking) they need to know. The gear knob could make the car more attractive to a thief/vandal.

Just to reiterate - your insurance comnpany need to know about any change to the vehicle from when it left the factory.
