High mounted stop light inoperative

hi there the high mounted stop light on my k12 04 plate micra does not work, tried changing the bulb for a working one and checked the fuse which is fine, but it still does not work.

Any ideas what could be causing it, as the contacts also seem to be fine.

is it mounted inside the boot? if so check the wires where they move as the boot open and closes can nacker the wires

i will take a look in the morning as at first glance the wires looked ok, will check further in though.
