Need a little bit of help.
I have got a Micra for work (Nissan Micra 1.0 16v 1999MY Celebration Ltd Edn) and it doesn't have a lighter socket - though it does have a hole for one! I really need to hook one up so I can charge my SavNav as I am commuting a fair bit.
The intention was to take power from the 'ignition power' and and an earth currently connected to the stereo and hook these upto a new 12v socket.
I took the panels off but don't know;
1) Confirmation this is an OK plan - I not car or elec. savvy!
2) What is the 12V Ignition (i think red?)?
3) Confirmation the earth is the brown
4) What I need to buy to split the cables. I have seen splitter boxes but could do with a link or summit so I make sure I don't get the wrong thing.
I took a photo of the wires running to the head unit at present;
On a final note, there was some unused wires already present - any idea what these are for? thought I would ask in case I can just plug these into a new lighter socket!!
