Help finding the right private reg

I've been looking at private reg's for a while now. I think I'm going to get one, but don't want to just jump in and get the first one I see. I want to get the most suitable for a sensible price. I found my perfect number plate. It was 'LOR1 4E' - however it's priced at £12,500 which is way out of my price range, hehe. I want it to look like LORI, but I don't want to really be paying much over £500. However I would pay £1,000 for 'LOR1 4E', hehe I did find 'X121 LOR' for £499 which is the best I've found so far, but it doesn't look all that private.

I thought I would ask on here incase there are any expert private reg searches on here

There are loads on the DVLA website which are **** LOR for £250, eg N666 LOR, R500 LOR, or ones like V55 LOR for £300.

J 7ORJ or T 7ORL are £250 if you can be clever with the letters.

Or what about a plate starting LO51? If you can be clever with the screws on the plate again. :S

I've thought about buying a private plate loads of times, my ideal one would be CHR15 0D seeing that my name's Chris and my nickname has always been OD since school, but I think this one would be pretty expensive.

One thing you need to remember though is that you can only put a plate of equivalent age or older onto a vehicle, i.e if you have an M reg car you can only put M*** LOR or something older like L10 RII etc.

it annoys me when people do that, they say its just for the words to look right, but what if you went through a speed camera and it didnt reconise you, its not just right. Not to mention if it were stolen, an ANRP system wouldnt pick it up...

Damn right there. I found CHR 15 on the DVLA website and it was £85,000
